Do your employees know where to locate a fire extinguisher?

I was having lunch today at a women's business networking meeting when a guest mentioned to me she didn't even know where there fire extinguishers were in her office.  Needless to say, I will be over there tomorrow making sure all her employees know where to locate them.

A gift for the man that has everything!!!

I can't buy my Dad one more golf shirt ... he has over fifty. A great Christmas gift for the person that has everything is a portable fire extinguisher for their garage or kitchen.

Apartment House Fire Close Call

Bad news for the Apartment House Owner. How did they make a purchase and not have the extinguishers up-to-date?  No excuse. This was a close call.

Cooking with grease

Never throw water on a pot or pan that has caught on fire. Quickest thing I did (a few years ago) was to smother it with two dish towels.

The New 5 Second Rule

Memorize the acronym for using an extinguisher: “PASS”

It stands for “pull, aim, squeeze, sweep.”
With a slight tug, remove the plastic tie from the handle and then…
Pull the pin from the handle.
Aim the nozzle low, while keeping the extinguisher upright.
Squeeze the handle in toward the fire, keeping the extinguisher focused on the base of the fire.
Sweep the extinguisher from side to side and focus at the base of the fire.
